Northwestern Athletics Recognizes OTR for Disability Inclusion Efforts
“OTR recognized on the jumbotron at Northwestern Basketball for disability inclusion work.”
On Monday, November 10th, residents from Hill attended the Northwestern Men’s Basketball game for a fun community outing, and Over The Rainbow was recognized in a big way.
During a timeout, OTR was featured on the jumbotron as the “Community Group of the Game.” The announcement highlighted the work we do to support adults with physical disabilities and helped bring more visibility to disability inclusion across the community.

Residents loved seeing OTR up on the big screen and enjoyed taking photos with the jumbotron in the background. The energy in the arena, paired with being publicly acknowledged for our mission, made the evening feel special for everyone who attended.

Outings like this give our residents the chance to get out, try something new, and be part of the community. Even with the physical challenges many of them face, nights like this show just how much they can do when accessibility is in place, cheering, connecting, and enjoying the experience like anyone else. These experiences are made possible through our Resident Services Program, which helps ensure residents have the support they need to participate fully in community life.
A big thank-you to “Cats give back” Northwestern Athletics, and Northwestern Medicine for the warm welcome.
