Val Nora 5K 2026

What a day! More than 300 participants came together on Sunday, July 12, for Over The Rainbow’s Val Nora 5K + Food Truck Fest, celebrating Disability Pride Month and supporting adults with disabilities through Over The Rainbow.

The morning was filled with energy as runners, walkers, rollers, residents, families, volunteers, and supporters of all ages enjoyed a scenic 5K followed by a family-friendly festival featuring food trucks, music, and activities.

A highlight of the day was the participation of the Northwestern University Men's and Women's Basketball teams, who cheered on participants, spent time with residents, and helped create an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance.

Held in honor of longtime resident Val Nora, the event celebrated community, connection, and Over The Rainbow's mission to empower adults with physical disabilities to live with dignity and independence.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, sponsored, and supported this inaugural event. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success and can't wait to do it again next year!
